Bio
Amy Fox's creative urge took her away from the East and landed her and a disabled car in Fredricksburg, Texas. There she sang in a country band to get the necessary repairs made and moved on for some time in Austin, TX.
Many bands later Amy went solo in 1998 and released Public Offering. She toured the Southwest acoustically and returned to Austin, Texas to record the prelude to her next CD, ... from the Underbelly.
Produced with her friend Bryan Keeling currently touring with Shooter Jennings, Underbelly became a musical journey reminiscent of a Supertramp ride—the resolute, aggressive, feminine and honest perspective of Fox' songs weaving poetic balladry with raw delivery and uncompromising style.
2004 found Amy on multiple compilations. In tribute to one of her influences, she appeared on Skipping Discs' Different for Girls—female artists covering Joe Jackson. Incognito and as herself, she appeared on Coffee with Joe - 11 Cups of Coffee Your Way. In support of ending domestic violence for women, she donated House of Thick Skin to Artists for Change. In support of UK children's funds, Miracle Son became part of GetMeMusic's Christmas compilation.
On performance hiatus while incubating her third CD, Amy hit the studio and honed her score and audio-for-video skills, experimenting with advertising reel production, music for marketing tags, instrumental and hook driven composition and voice over. Her visceral approach and appeal with songwriting is most often tied to visual images anyway, and writing to an existing picture and theme was an obvious next step.
Mostly, though, and simply put: Amy Fox writes songs. She rocks. She's a visionary. She works hard and she loves it.
